Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh!
Welcome to Day 26 of our BeQuranic 2025 Challenge! We’re studying ayah 26 of Surah Al-Mulk today—a short but deeply profound verse. Let’s dive in!
The Ayah
Allah says:
قُلْ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
“Say, ‘The knowledge is only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner.’”
Context and Meaning
This ayah is a direct response to the question we discussed yesterday, where the Quraysh mocked the believers, asking:
“When is this promise of Qiyamah going to happen?”
Allah instructs the Prophet ﷺ to respond:
1. “The knowledge is only with Allah.”
• No one knows the exact timing of the Day of Judgment—neither the Prophet ﷺ nor the angels. This knowledge is exclusively with Allah.
2. “I am only a clear warner.”
• The Prophet’s role is not to reveal the time of Qiyamah but to warn people about it and guide them to the straight path.
Lessons from the Ayah
1. Focus on What Matters
The Quraysh were trying to distract from the real message by fixating on “when.” But Allah redirects the focus: it’s not about knowing when Qiyamah will come, but what we are doing to prepare for it.
This is a lesson for us too. How often do we get caught up in irrelevant details and miss the bigger picture?
